Random people

Random people you see on the street. I notice them. I describe them. I document them. So, here they are, I hope it will be nice to meet them.

My name is Raya, I live in the Netherlands and I am (becoming) a writer.

Breakfast date

His love is flexible. It has to be, because the girl he loves keeps changing. Sometimes the changes are small and insignificant, but there are times when the changes are big, fast and almost impossible to keep up with. In those periods he wakes up next to a different girl every morning. That’s when breakfast together feels like a first date. Sometimes those dates don’t work out. When that happens they smile at each other and say their goodbyes. As she walks out the door he knows he will never see her again. The next morning she is back as somebody else. They have breakfast and discover each other all over again. This morning the date worked out wonderfully. She was painfully shy, timid, and he was reassuring and comforting. Now they are sitting in the grass, playing with fallen leaves, and she has just started to open up. She is his first love, his second, his third. She is the only girl he has ever been with, yet he feels he has been in love with hundreds of girls in the two years she has been his girlfriend. He doesn’t just love all the new people she becomes, he also loves her for the change itself. His one fault has always been that he gets bored too fast, before long he always loses interest. He will never lose interest in her, their relationship will always be fresh and new. At the same time it gives the comfort, the commitment and the safety of a long term relationship. They might separate for a day every once in a while, but the next morning she is always his again. She will always be his, no matter who she is. He loves change, even though he finds it hard to say goodbye every evening, knowing she will never be who she was today again. Do you change too, stranger?
